A recognized aviation services provider in Edmonton is seeking an AIRLINE RAMP AGENT to ensure safe and efficient aircraft handling. The successful candidate will sort, load, and unload baggage, service lavatories, and manage ground equipment. They must possess strong communication skills and work effectively in a team. Adaptability to changing conditions and a willingness to work outdoors are essential. Training and PPE are provided, and the position includes a yearly footwear allowance and vacation per the Canadian Labour Program.

FLIGHTCRAFT AVIATION SERVICES has a long year history of providing safe, best in class aviation ground handling services. As we grow west into Alberta, we are currently seeking candidates for AIRLINE RAMP (BTW) AGENT based in Edmonton, Alberta. This career is a part of the overall Flightcraft Team, and is an integral part of the Leadership Group within the company.

JOB SUMMARY

Ramp and/or Cargo Service Agents work under the direction of the Shift Lead/Supervisor and/or other Management to ensure all aspects of aircraft handling are completed according to specific company policies & procedures. Safety, attention to detail, following company procedures, and teamwork are key components to be a successful ramp agent. The ideal candidate must possess verbal & written communication skills, be energetic, outgoing, understanding and accepting of change. They must also be flexible and able to deal with the adapting nature of aviation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sort, load, unload baggage and cargo from flights.
  • Service lavatories and potable water per company standards.
  • Connect, disconnect ground power/bridge power from Aircraft.
  • Marshall aircraft to and from gate, parking stands.
  • Wing walk arrivals and departures.
  • Operate belt loaders, baggage tractors and carts.
  • Operate container loaders, dollies and large freight related equipment.
  • Complete aircraft grooming.
  • Complete aircraft towing and/or brake riding.
  • Complete daily inspection of operating equipment.
  • Complete equipment deficiency reports as required.
  • Snow removal, equipment cleaning, housekeeping as required.
  • Attend all required training sessions and successfully complete training courses.
  • Actively participate in company safety programs.
  • Work as a team member in a safe, efficient, professional manner.
  • Adhere to published uniform standards and requirements.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and safe workplace procedures.
  • Take direction from ramp shift leads/supervisors, Ramp manager, and owners.
  • Complete customer baggage and/or cargo deliveries as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to apply and secure an Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
  • Ability to speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Previous airline and/or freight handling experience would be an asset.
  • Must have excellent team player competencies.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and/or in a team environment working varied and/or split shifts.
  • Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • $85.00 per year Protective Footwear Allowance.
  • PPE required is provided to employee.
  • 50c/50e Cost Share on all Uniform Pieces.
  • Paid Training.
  • Vacation per Canada Labour Program.
  • RAIC Deposit may be required as mandated or required by Airport Authority.
