Hatch is seeking a Rail Engineering Student to join our Infrastructure, Rail team based out of the Edmonton, Alberta office. In this role, you will be working on major railway projects in Western Canada.

As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Produce all levels of drawings from concept to detailed design
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary design teams to develop functional designs in accordance with regulations, laws, and design standards
  • Maintain high-quality standards through quality control processes
You bring to the role:
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Degree at an accredited University
  • Knowledge of current technical engineering codes and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Problem solving skills and analytical.
Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D is considered an asset
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Shows critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges

Candidates are expected to work from Hatch’s downtown Vancouver office full time for the duration of the work term. This position is available for 12-month or 16-month work terms starting on May 2026.

Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $34.00

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
