Job description

SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking a CGSB Certified Radiography Technician who is self‑motivated and safety‑oriented to join our team. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in‑service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking a skilled, experienced, and team‑oriented candidate who values quality and integrity.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform Radiography to inspect materials or components for flaws utilizing gamma rays
  • Follow all safety regulations in regard to transportation, safe handling of exposure devices
  • Keep precise documentation of radiographic activities, including logs for materials, exposure settings, and outcomes
  • Prepare and calibrate exposure equipment, ensuring it operates correctly and adheres to safety regulations.
  • Conduct radiographic inspections using gamma‑ray or X‑ray equipment to detect defects in materials, parts, or structures
  • Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures
  • Understand and complete work assignments as per company inspection procedures, in a timely, effective and competent manner
  • Document and record findings identified in inspections performed
  • Complete field sketches as required in accordance with approved procedures
  • Maintain and utilize the shared equipment effectively, minimizing and preventing damage
  • Perform the scope of work to completion and satisfaction of the client
  • Understand local jurisdiction regulations in conducting job tasks
  • Report equipment maintenance/repair issues in accordance with company procedures for corrective action
  • Oversee repair and maintenance for equipment assigned and ensure related documentation is maintained
  • Record results of inspections and perform NDT methods and other operations
  • Responsible to adhere to all safety regulations, standards and maintain safe work practices
  • Responsible to report any unsafe work activities, hazards or concerns
  • Responsible to mentor and provide guidance to assistant crew members
  • Communicate with clients in a friendly, efficient and professional manner when interacting
  • Resolve client questions, concerns
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • CGSB Radiography Level 2
  • Additional NDT certifications considered an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience
  • Experience with profile radiography and digital radiography
  • MUST be able to produce high quality film subject to periodic audits
  • Must be familiar with reading piping iso’s, structural drawings, etc.
  • Competent with Delta 880
  • Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and OSSA Fall Protection
  • IRATA Rope Access certification considered an asset
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work at high elevations
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. unassisted and to operate hand tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Read and write in English
  • Ability to collaborate on assignments
  • Experience working in confined spaces and working from heights
  • Strong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observations
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment
