The Team

The Radio and Telecommunications team is a small, dedicated group of five Radio Technologists who maintain the Ministry’s critical radio communications infrastructure across B.C. This established team works collaboratively in pairs to service 188 mountain-top repeater sites, ensuring reliable communication networks that support highway maintenance and public safety. The Radio Communications team plays a vital role in keeping field staff safe by maintaining a province-wide network of radio systems for natural resource ministries, including BC Wildfire Service, BC Parks, and Conservation Officer Service. This established team is regionally based, with 10 radio shops and 20 technologists working collaboratively across BC to install, repair, and support thousands of radios and repeaters.
