A leading contracting company in Peel Region is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to manage the quality aspects of curtain wall installations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in similar roles and strong communication and organizational skills. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in curtain wall/architectural cladding considered a strong asset.
  • Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings/shop drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Track analysis of quality control data from site.
  • Review installation of the Curtain Wall.
  • Investigate installation problems and coordinate with teams.
  • Provide documentation and communicate reports/results.
  • Carry out random inspections to ensure quality.
  • Prepare non-conformance report during inspections.
  • Perform re-inspections on rectified rejected panels.
  • Prepare request for inspection when works are completed.
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding inspection comments.
  • Conduct site testing (water, smoke, acoustic tests).
  • Perform joint inspections with consultants.
  • Keep quality control documents updated.

A Day in the Life:

-Track analysis of quality control data from site.

-Review installation of the Curtain Wall.

-Investigate installation problems and coordinate with the Manufacturing, Design or Drafting Team.

-Provide documentation and communicate reports/results to the Department Manager.

-Carry out random inspection on site to ensure that the product meets the quality requirements.

-Prepare non-conformance report found during inspections.

-Prepare snag list report describing the non-conforming points and coordinate to project manager for corrective actions.

-Perform re-inspection on rectified rejected panels.

-Prepare request for inspection (RFI) when the works are completed and ready for inspection to the customer representative.

-Coordinate with contractors and consultants regarding inspection comments.

-Conduct and oversee actual site testing (water test; smoke test & acoustic test).

-Perform joint inspections with the consultants and client representatives for final acceptance of the works.

-Keep required quality control documents on file and updated.

-All other duties assigned.

What You Bring

-Previous experience in curtain wall/architectural cladding considered a strong asset.

-Previous experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings/shop drawings.

-Strong communication and organization skills.

-Strong PC skills and previous experience with AutoCAD an asset.
