Role Summary

The Automation Quality Control Analyst Junior is a key resource in projects that thrive to deliver high quality and performance of large scale, multi-platform software applications. The role requires high motivation, self-starter abilities, great programming skills that will be intangibles in the goal of working hand in hands with the developers and delivering automated functional end to end tests. Under general direction, this position is a key point of contact for automation activities within their projects and is an invaluable collaborator for development and quality control teams. Is responsible for prioritizing work daily to ensure required tests are automated within the expected timeframe. Recommends improvements/changes to the system test automation process; ensures the established process is followed and evolved to keep up with realities and technologies.

What you need to succeed

As an Automation Quality Control Analyst Junior in Test, what you need to succeed will include:

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrable test automation experience
    • 1 or more years' experience programming applications using Java, JavaScript/Typescript
    • Develop and maintain applications using Oracle, XML, JSON and numerous JavaScript libraries
    • Experience with code management tools mainly Git
  • Strong testing experience
    • Experience with testing methodologies, processes, strategies
    • Very good at problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting
    • Hands on experience with Selenium based framework (i.e., Webdriverio), Node JS
    • Experience practicing BDD testing with Gherkin/Cucumber, API testing with SOAP or RESTful components. Mobile testing with Appium would be a plus.
  • Experience working in DevOps culture
    • Understanding of CICD principles and core objectives
    • Understanding of pipelines and experience with CI tools like Gitlab or Jenkins or equivalent
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program.

Work Experience: Typically 1+ years experience programming applications using Java, JavaScript/Typescript

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Other Skills
  • Proven success developing automated tests for UI, REST services and Transaction based systems
  • Understanding with a wide variety of test tools, including the integration of different tools.
  • Understanding of Software Engineering Process and Agile Methodology.
  • Experience with key data format XML, JSON.
  • Strong knowledge of selenium-based automation frameworks like WebDriverIO.
  • Staying up to date with new technologies and suggesting feasible ways to make use of them through personal and collective initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of the environment and tools used by the test automation team.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision on multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Strong Communication, and Negotiation Skills.

Languages

Proficiency in English is required (written & spoken). French would be an asset.
