The Duty Free at Peace Bridge is preparing to launch a modernized, land-border shop in Fort Erie, Ontario. We are seeking an experiencedPurchasing and Inventory Management Coordinator to support our duty-free operations across Canada. This role is responsible for purchasing, inventory accuracy, logistics coordination, and ensuring compliance with CBSA-regulated documentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong digital organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex inventory across a multi-channel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and prioritize purchasing and inventory plans to support operational needs.
- Organize daily tasks and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
- Oversee and plan logistics related to purchasing, inventory movement, and inter-location transfers.
- Monitor the movement of goods, supplies, and materials between departments and bonded facilities.
- Prepare and maintain inventory, purchasing, and progress reports.
- Prepare and submit required CBSA-regulated accounting documents, including B116s, Warehouse Transfers, Certificates of Destruction, and related forms.
- UtilizeCARMacross multiple locations for customs accounting, filings, and verification support.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls using inventory software and internal reporting tools.
- Perform routine clerical and office duties, providing customer service when required.
- Keep track of all incoming and outgoing shipments, liaising with brokers and logistics partners.
- Train staff on purchasing, receiving, and inventory procedures; arrange additional staff training as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and duty-free logistical practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year in a purchasing, logistics, customs, or inventory-focused environment.
- Experience preparing CBSA accounting documents (B116, transfers, destruction certificates, etc) in a multi-site environment.
- Experience usingCARM for multi-location customs processes.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures and cross-border logistics.
Proficiency with:
- MS Outlook
- MS Excel - Including VBA coding
- MS Word
- MS Windows
- MS Teams - Including Sharepoint
- Inventory control software
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Excellent written communication skills and strong client-service focus.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
- On-site role only all work must be completed at the physical location; remote work is not available.
