Responsibilities of our Registered Psychologist include:
- Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis (where applicable), and treatment for individuals and/or couples during pregnancy and postpartum
- Support clients experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), birth trauma, fertility-related challenges, grief/loss, and other major life transitions
- Deliver evidence-based interventions such as CBT, ACT, IPT, or trauma-focused therapies
- Facilitate group programs or workshops to promote perinatal mental health and resilience
- Collaborate with other PUSH Mama Care providers to ensure integrated, client-centered care
- Contribute to the development of educational resources and online content for parents
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all professional and ethical standards of practice
We require experience including:
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counselling, or School Psychology
- Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO)
- Authorized areas of practice that include Clinical Psychology with Adults (and Couples, if applicable)
- Professional liability insurance coverage
- 1–3 years of clinical experience, ideally with perinatal or family populations
- Training or continuing education in perinatal mental health strongly preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of perinatal mental health, attachment theory, and family systems
- Experience supporting clients through postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment to parenthood
- Ability to work from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and inclusive perspective
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Advanced clinical reasoning, assessment, and formulation skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
- Flexibility and ability to adapt/prioritize in a constantly changing environment
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to care
