Job description
Overview

Victor Energy Ltd. is a leading powerline contractor with over 20 years of experience building Alberta’s electrical infrastructure. It is owned by Java Holdings Ltd., which owns a portfolio of companies in North America and Europe. Java Holdings is engaged in acquisitions and provides high-level execution support for large utility, oil and gas, and power generation projects, specializing in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management). As part of the Java Group, Victor Energy’s staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Review proposal documents to plan timing and approach for proposal delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive deliverables lists for each proposal, including required documents, forms, schedules, and supporting materials.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the company and clients throughout the proposal process, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication.
  • Conduct necessary research, liaise with key stakeholders, and review external sources as required to support drafting content.
  • Gather draft content from project team members and revise it to create coherent and grammatically correct documents consistent with company branding and presentation standards.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular check-ins with contributors to review outstanding items and address issues.
  • Edit and format proposal documents for clarity, consistency, and compliance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain and update proposal content libraries, including resumes, project profiles, and templates.
  • Respond to post-submission requests for information, participate in client meetings and negotiations, and ensure a smooth transition of leadership to the project lead appointed for the execution phase.
  • Archive final proposals and supporting documentation for future reference and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Required

  • Degree or Certificate in Communications, English, Project Management, Business, or equivalent education and experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in proposal coordination or technical writing
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong planning, critical thinking, time management, and documentation skills
  • Consistent eye for detail and organizational skills in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills

Preferred

  • A natural curiosity and a drive to learn
  • Experience in the utility or construction sector
  • Digital design including creating and or editing graphics for images, posters, brochures, etc.
  • Experience writing high-quality response documents to satisfy client goals
  • Willingness to work occasional extended hours to meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude, team player, change agent, with a willingness to learn new approaches
