A leading shipbuilding company in Dartmouth seeks a Project Manager to enhance its Planning Governance Framework. The role involves managing strategic projects, executing programmatic activities, and supporting risk identification and mitigation. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and 5-8 years of experience, with strong project management and communication skills. The position requires a full-time, in-office presence, emphasizing continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
The Project Manager, Planning Governance plays a pivotal role in strengthening the effectiveness, consistency, and continuous improvement of the Planning function. This role drives the evolution of the ISI Planning Governance Framework by leading high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives that improve performance, alignment, and operational excellence.
In this role, you will champion risk‑based thinking, build strong relationships across the organization, and apply disciplined project management practices to deliver meaningful, measurable results. Your work will span benchmarking, process and documentation development, and organizational change management-ensuring Planning remains structured, efficient, and future‑ready. You will also provide program‑level project management support to Planning control account managers, enabling them to succeed through accurate progress reporting, robust change control, and informed resource planning.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full‑time, in‑office presence.
