Job description

Our client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and deliver projects on time within budget and scope. Project Manager will possess strong project management skills, knowledge of AI/ML technologies and data management concepts, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role requiring working two (2) days in the office and three (3) days remotely, per week. (All remote work must be completed from your home office within the province of Ontario.)

Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead the development of business solutions to enhance our ability to service clients and to achieve business objectives, particularly through AI and data modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and implement project management strategies, plan and objectives for AI/ML and data related projects.
  • Identify and proactively approach all stakeholders to ensure appropriate involvement, organize project kick‑off sessions, providing regular project updates, managing expectations and supporting the project sponsor as required.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support across multiple concurrent phases of the AI/ML and data analytics program, including potential oversight of parallel projects, facilitating collaboration and ensuring alignment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans, identifying tasks, sequencing, dependencies, and resource requirements for successful migration to MS Fabric and Power BI.
  • Ensure process flows, specifications and test plans are properly documented and executed.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support project decisions, including evaluating migration strategies, data governance models, and performance benchmarks.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Project Management standards, tailoring methodologies to suit a small and dynamic organization, and promoting best practices in agile and hybrid delivery models.
A great candidate for this position will have:
  • Minimum university degree, specializing in Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering.
  • Project Management Professional designation is preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience in project management.
  • Experience with leading data analytics and reporting projects involving migration to MS Fabric and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and methodologies is preferred. Understanding of data governance, data ingestion, ETL transformation.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Business Objects and various statistical programs.
  • Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with system integrators and internal resources.
