Project Manager / Estimator – Fabrication

itec group is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager / Estimator specializing in fabrication. In this role, you will oversee projects from initial estimation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position plays a critical role in managing project execution while maintaining strong financial controls and customer relationships. If you enjoy owning projects end-to-end and working in a hands-on, industrial environment, this role offers both stability and growth.

You will be stepping into a key role within a growing organization undergoing a positive cultural shift. This position replaces an existing Project Manager transitioning internally, providing an opportunity to take ownership of active projects while contributing to a more flexible, trust-based work environment. Your work will directly impact project profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational success.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Lead the estimation process for fabrication projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, subcontractor pricing, and project-related expenses
• Manage fabrication projects from award through completion
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and budgets
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
• Maintain project profitability by managing scope changes, customer change orders, and warranty chargebacks with suppliers
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and execution

Mandatory Requirements:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent)
• Experience in project management and/or estimating within fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain budget accountability

Preferred Requirements:

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a related field
• Background in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, cranes, lifting equipment, or material handling
• Knowledge or experience with PMBOK standards and best practices
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Adaptability to work across different industrial sectors

Location: Hamilton, Ontario

(Hybrid work arrangement – 2 days work from home)

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 base salary + quarterly bonuses
