Job summary

A leading Canadian financial institution in Montreal is seeking a Project Control Officer to support the EPMO department. The ideal candidate will monitor and coordinate all project plans, identify budget and resource issues, and ensure project interdependencies are managed effectively. A Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or computer science, along with project management certification and three years of relevant experience, are required. POSITION OVERVIEW

BDC is looking for a Project Control Officer (PCO) to support the EPMO department. In this role, the Officer will monitor and coordinate all project plans by determining potential budget, resource, timing and workload issues with project managers. CHALLENGES TO BE MET

As an expert, you will be in the best position for an overview of the project portfolio! You will be asked to work and contribute at all stages, including the following:

  • Monitor and coordinate all project plans while taking the initiative to determine clear conflicts in each plan to find a solution
  • Check that interdependencies within and between schedules are correctly established, and monitor WIP units and tasks
  • To maximize resource allocation and with a view to managing capacity, create, update and maintain a global plan with the participation of all team leads and project managers so that management has an overview of all projects in progress
  • Coordinate report production so as to monitor and foresee all project expenses (invoice management)
  • Verify any unforeseen deviation with project managers by making sure that the justification is duly documented in accordance with project management methodology
  • Make sure the administrative and logistical part is consistent for all progress meetings, project launches and closures

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

If you can answer “YES” to the following questions, you may be just the person we are looking for:

  • Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or computer science, combined with a certification in project management?
  • Do you have three years’ experience in a similar role?
  • Have you unlocked all the secrets of Excel?

Your application will get our attention if you’re bilingual (French and English, both spoken and written) and you have excellent analytical skills in multi-project monitoring. You are known for your excellent ability to solve problems and follow up. You work efficiently with an integrated projects team and are proficient in MS Project (EPM). You are dynamic, rigorous, very independent and well organized.
