Project Chief Body Closures - Senior
Location: Windsor, ON
Pay: $45.98 per hour

Description:
The Project Chief will oversee all Closures commodities (Door In White, Hood, Fender, Static and Dynamic Sealing, Liftgates) for vehicle programs, from start to finish ('cradle to grave'). Early in a program, this will involve working with Product Planning and the Product Design Office (or 'styling') to help guide the design of the vehicle toward feasible technical solutions. Early program work also requires extensive collaboration to determine appropriate Cost Weight and Investment targets for the new vehicle. As the design evolves, the Project Chief (PC) will be responsible for tracking on-time sourcing (supplier selection) and design release of component designs for tooling. Further in a program, the PC will manage all component and system testing plans and timelines to ensure Closures components are on time, and will develop recovery mitigation plans as necessary. Significant supplier and assembly plant launch support throughout pilot and launch phases will follow. Once a program is launched, the PC will actively manage any warranty or quality issues the customer experiences with exterior trim.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • 5 years of experience in engineering design and development of components
  • Must be an outgoing self-starter, able to work with many people to organize complex projects
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Requirements:
  • Design / development / release experience of Closures components (sheetmetal, plastic, and sealing) an important plus
  • Knowledge of DFSS, DFMEA and test/validation experience also a plus
  • Proven experience organizing / leading teams of engineers to meeting quality; fit/finish; CWI and functional objectives beneficial

Notes:
  • Onsite/ Remote Hybrid ~ 75% Onsite at assembly plants / engineering office / supplier / test facility – 25% Remote; "4 days on site, mostly at Windsor or occasional CTC reviews."
  • Does this position require driving a Stellantis vehicle?(Examples: Testing / Driving on a Track / Moving vehicle throughout the facility/ Moving vehicle to another plant location)No
  • Amount of travel, (if so, where): 0-15% travel to regional supplier reviews
