Project Associate, Facilities Planning

Facilities Planning
St. Joseph's Hospital - London, ON
Temporary Full Time
Salary Range: $31.74 - $37.35 /hour

Temporary assignment anticipated to extend to February 26, 2027, subject to the availability of work.

Reporting to the Coordinator of the Facilities Planning and Development team, you will assist with a number of departmental projects and initiatives, with a major focus on assisting with the project management of facilities and construction projects of various sizes. You will also lead smaller projects and assist with other departmental responsibilities, including the department's TIFM (total integrated facilities management) software application using Archibus FM. Projects will be largely renovations of a variety of sizes. Your problem‑solving abilities along with your excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to co‑ordinate project details and implementation with the team, St. Joseph's staff, consultants and others.

Essential Qualifications
  • Diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or Interior Design or related field
  • 1 year of previous experience in project management, managing institutional projects required. Related experience in health care setting is preferred
  • Experience in operating and maintaining project‑tracking systems, cost programs, scheduling software and office software program applications
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, design, development, functional programming and data collection.
  • Strong familiarity of AutoCAD, as well as experience in operating database management, MS Word, MS Excel and a variety of general office software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and electronic)
  • Good project management and detailed construction knowledge is essential along with excellent conflict resolution and awareness
  • Ability to investigate, analyze project scope and prepare required drawings and documents including cost estimates
  • Excellent organizational skill and ability to co‑ordinate project details and implementation with SJHC's staff, consultants and contractors
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, CNSC, ASHRAE standards and applicable CSA/CAN standards for health care facilities, will be an asset
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Architecture (AAO), Engineering (PEng); related experience
  • Experience in Archibus FM, space design, project tracking and data collection are assets.
  • Previous work experience (including co‑op work experience) is an asset, as is familiarity with the health care setting
  • Designation from an accredited professional organization (Project Management Institute, Building Owners & Managers International, Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, Ontario Association of Architects, or Professional Engineer)
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
