Qualifications

Project Accountant - Construction & Services

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the leadership of the Director of Finance the position performance a variety of accounting, financial analysis and project reconciliation reporting. In support of the construction related division this role will include processing invoices, journal entries, reconciliation, labour and expense reconciliation, inventory management and profitability analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for completing full cycle accounting, including invoicing, inventory management and project reconciliation.
  • Review, record and process all project related labour, overhead, expenses and code to project project accounts and GLs.
  • Perform reconciliation of project accounts, investigate and correct variances and discrepancies.
  • Responsible for inventor management through reviews, cycle count sheets and analyzing and correcting discrepancies in collaboration with the shipping group.
  • Complete month end project closing procedures and provide financial reporting to Director of Engineering and Director of Sales.
  • Report financial information for projects, including reviewing budgets against performance and profitability.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual reporting by providing necessary supporting schedules related to assigned projects.
  • Provides general accounting support as part of the accounting team.
  • Perform projects and ad hoc tasks, as assigned by the Director of Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive project accounting experience within the construction and services industry.
  • Intermediate working experience of QuickBooks and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in financial reporting, financial analysis and project costing.
