We welcome applications for part-time teaching opportunities. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Contract faculty typically teach up to 6 hours per week, with classes scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm.

Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning environment for students. You will:

  • Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques.
  • Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students.
  • Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips.
  • Evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses.
What you bring to Seneca

Education:
Paralegal diploma or a law degree

Experience:
1 year of post-secondary teaching experience

PLC450 (Small Claims Court - Practice and Procedure):
- Active Law Society of Ontario (LSO) license in good standing
- 3 years of related work experience in Small Claims Court

LXC312 (Corporate and Commercial Law):
- Experience in corporate and commercial law – ideally experience as a corporate/commercial lawyer.

Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience teaching fundamentals of your area(s) of expertise.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the Polytechnics’ diverse staff and student population is required, as is an understanding of and commitment to equity in education.
  • Commitment to a team approach for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
