Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform screening of SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) in Bombardier Materials & Processes Specifications, Qualified Product Library and Parts database.
  • Perform impact analysis of SVHC against regulatory requirements in collaboration with M&P and Sustainability Specialists.
  • Lead investigations on SVHC free replacement materials and processes.
  • Lead material qualification test plans and governing specification updates for replacement technologies.
  • Tactical Support for Bombardier’s Environment Compliance Office by performing investigations within the roadmap of obsolescence/phase out.
  • Perform substance weight calculation for special cases at detail part level up to Aircraft Assemblies.
  • Support maintenance of Bombardier Aviation product bill of substance database.
  • Lead maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheet Management system.
  • Support Bombardier representatives in International Associations for the Environment in the area of materials and substances authorization, restriction and replacement technologies.
How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering such as Chemical/ Material Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry (preferably with an OEM).
  • You are knowledgeable about typical military and/or aerospace industry standards such as MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO and SAE specifications.
  • You have good knowledge of chemical processes and non-metallic materials e.g. paints, primers, sealants, adhesives and composites (an asset).
  • You have practical knowledge of the main environmental regulation and substance reporting standards (an asset).
  • You have practical knowledge of methodologies for substance presence in articles, complex products and substance mass calculations (an asset).
  • You have good knowledge of MS Office and experience in Power BI (an asset).
  • You are a team player and respect differences in individual opinions while working towards meeting common objectives.
  • You have a good spoken and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).
