We are seeking a highly motivated Production Planner to join our team and play a crucial role in optimizing our production processes. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing specifications, planning workflows, scheduling tasks, and ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining efficiency and quality.

What you’ll do:
  • Create, publish and maintain a Production Schedule while interfacing with internal customers to ensure timely processing of all parts.
  • Balance work-in-progress, resources and capacity in conjunction with Operations Leaders.
  • Negotiate corrective actions to scheduling when dictated by changes to customer delivery requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between production, engineering, purchasing, and customer service to control the Production Schedule.
  • Maintain visual tracking boards / spreadsheets per company practice to ensure they reflect current forecasts, job flow, and monthly throughput.
  • Apply negotiation skills to re-negotiate Due Dates.
  • Control the rate of inductions to all production areas based on customer requirements, capacity and work-in-progress.
  • Coordinate overtime and resources with Operations Leaders.
  • Understand production area capacities and describe their work flows.
  • Provide back up support to other Production Planners.
  • Provide input and feedback to management.
  • Initiate and participate in production meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completion of grade 12 or GED.
  • Hands-on experience working with production processes, capacity planning, or quality control workflows.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, including experience working with spreadsheets reports, or production metrics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working cross-functionally within an organization.
  • Organizational and time management skills, demonstrated through managing multiple priorities or schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, with a track record of managing time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
Desired Skills:
  • Planning experience in aerospace industry preferred but not required.
  • Data-driven mindset and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
  • Experience working with Lean, CI, or similar process-improvement methodologies is an asset.
