Reporting to the Senior Manager Product and Underwriting Rules, this Manager will develop and execute on business strategy to deliver premium and earnings goals and contribute to overall business objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain robust understanding of the regulatory requirements, industry and customer trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, procedures and techniques.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of small business insurance products suite, monitor performance, identifying areas of opportunity, developing recommendations and driving changes to achieve business and financial objectives.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of small business products and a solid understanding of customer segments, customer needs, competitive landscape and trends in the General Insurance industry to assist in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Drive the design and development of new and innovative products and product enhancements to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.
  • Refine product management strategies through analysis of key business drivers and provide recommendations.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for small business product-related inquiries.
  • Solve complex problems with considerations to multiple constraints and variables and work with partners to develop solutions.
  • Lead product discussions and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in delivering day-to-day projects and initiatives
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and guidelines in alignment with risk appetite.
Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise, actionable summaries for an executive audience
  • 7+ years General Insurance experience.
  • Commercial Insurance Pricing and Underwriting knowledge is an asset
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and relationship building skills with a superior ability to make things happen with impact and influence and by nurturing key relationships
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make fact-based recommendations in a timely manner
  • Strong organization skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to conduct product research, product analysis and development, market intelligence
  • Proven track record of highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Self‑motivated, team player with high energy and ability to work independently
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Education/Accreditations
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, actuarial science, business administration or related discipline or a product management certificate.
  • Relevant insurance experience in at least one of the following: Product Management, Pricing or Underwriting.
