Job description
Product Line Manager – Crop Protection

The Product Line Manager – Crop Protection is responsible for the business relationship with our crop protection supplier partners. This position is accountable for delivering profitability goals for the specific product lines. You will manage the relationship with suppliers, oversee demand planning with our sales team, manage inventory levels, lead the development of wholesale programs and offers, and support demand creation initiatives led by our Marketing team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily collaboration and alignment with procurement, sales, marketing, finance, accounting and supply chain to make purchasing and strategic decisions.
  • Lead the business relationship, procurement and purchasing of supplier partners product lines.
  • Accountable to deliver on WinField United Canada profitability goals for the product line.
  • Lead and develop annual and 3-year product purchase and marketing plans with manufacturers. Execute purchasing within authorization limits based on approved annual purchase plan.
  • Manage product line inventory levels in collaboration with the Director of Procurement to maximize logistics efficiencies and working capital.
  • Develop, communicate and execute wholesale programs and offers with support and direction from Director of Product Line.
  • Support retail marketing strategies in collaboration with the Marketing department by jointly developing initiatives, offers or tactics that support customer requirements and promote products, services, or ideas.
  • Assist in the development of support materials (presentations, data files, sales history, etc.).
  • Work closely with Procurement Specialists on PO submissions, tracking & changes as well as on product ETA's and internal communication.
  • Accountable for setting and managing product allocations.
  • Collaborate with customer service team to execute supply plans.
  • Collaborate with Regional Business Leads and Account Managers to execute sales plans.
Qualifications
  • A university degree in business, marketing, or related field with minimum of 10 years’ directly-relevant experience within the Ag market.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the Canadian Crop Protection industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, budgeting, and developing business strategy.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer skills.
  • Strong analytic and reasoning ability; able to evaluate market research, customer satisfaction, and other relevant data and extract and apply insights to increase profitability of product portfolios.
