Job Overview

Position: Product Investigations Engineer – Canada Vehicle Safety. This role leads and manages the development of responses to defect and compliance inquiries, primarily from Transport Canada, and works with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage development of responses to defect and compliance inquiries, primarily from Transport Canada.
  • Work with Customer Care, Technical Service, and external third parties to identify emerging trends.
  • Assist Canadian team members with campaign administration and product analysis, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and internal reporting obligations.
  • Interface with external groups including Transport Canada and internal cross‑functional teams including Investigation teams, Product Development, Office of the General Counsel, Technical Service Operations, and Customer Care.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in cross‑functional roles with increasing responsibility, experience in Vehicle Safety, Federal Regulations, Product Development, or Customer Experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments and meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining zero tolerance for mistakes.
  • Working knowledge of multiple automotive systems.
  • Superior communication skills required with the ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal forms to internal and external agencies.
  • Ability to break down complex issues.
  • High level of accountability.
  • Must have passion for excellence and drive to deliver in the face of obstacles and time constraints.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a combined ME and EE degree from an ABET accredited university.
Education
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering, or other Technical degree (i.e. biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, etc.) from an ABET accredited university.
