Job description

We are currently looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team in Montreal. The chosen candidate will assist in the sale bids and proposal tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the sales process during its life cycle.
  2. Reply directly to tenders and offers and manage other parties that are involved in the reply.
  3. Coordinate the various internal parties related to the offer preparation via matrix management.
  4. Perform tenders evaluation, gap analysis, and recommend go/no go.
  5. Have the general responsibility for the proposed solution.
  6. Responsible to provide technical feedback to product management.
  7. Perform equipment demonstrations when required.
  8. Responsible for presenting the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  9. Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  10. Provide detailed descriptions of the designed network configurations responding to specific customer requirements including but not limited to:
  • Overall Technical Description.
  • System Diagrams.
  • Rack Elevation.
  • Equipment description.
  • Link Budgets.
  1. Prepare commercial proposals including, but not limited to:
  • Margin Analysis Sheet
  • Bill of Material
  • Price and Commercial Proposal.
  1. Provide to the sales force with adequate technical information and training to help them in their sales activities.
  2. Communicate all relevant information to the PMO group once a proposal has been materialized.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of bid/proposal experience.
  • Good comprehension of satellite systems, mainly oriented to VSAT systems design, their advantages, and solutions available in the market.
  • Must be resourceful and adapt rapidly to the market and product evolution.
  • Ability to create and perform technical and commercial presentations to customers and partners
  • Knowledge of Satellite Link Budgets is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Internetworking and general VSAT systems design is highly preferred.
  • Understanding and knowledge of financial analysis and KPIs applied in Proposals and Programs control.
