A leading technology consulting firm in Alberta is seeking a Power Platform Solution Consultant responsible for architecting and delivering innovative Power Platform solutions. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of IT experience and significant expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, and data modeling. The role includes defining solution architecture, hands-on application development, stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring compliance with best practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
The Power Platform Solution Consultant is responsible for supporting architecture and design, and delivering Power Platform solutions that meet business needs while establishing scalable patterns, governance, and sustainable development practices. This role provides both hands‑on solutioning and advisory oversight to ensure internal teams can maintain and extend the solution after the engagement.
Define and document solution architecture, design patterns, and governance for the Strategic Investment Grant Workflow app.
Establish ALM processes, environment strategy, and security compliance aligned with organizational standards.
Build model-driven and canvas apps, Power Automate flows, and integrate with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Azure, and SQL.
Configure environments (Dev, Test, Prod) and implement deployment pipelines for the workflow app.
Collaborate with business units to validate requirements and ensure solution adoption.
Deliver training sessions, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams for sustainable ownership.
Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria definition for initiative-related features.
Provide architectural guidance during development cycles and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Support UAT, defect triage, and performance testing for the workflow app.
Maintain compliance with security and data governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify automation opportunities and incorporate Power Platform advancements into the solution.
Recommend enhancements post-deployment to optimize efficiency and user experience.
6+ years of progressive IT experience, with a strong focus on solution architecture and enterprise application design.
Minimum 4–5 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse), including building complex solutions, integrations, and implementing governance and ALM practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Power BI.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, relational databases, and data integration techniques.
Experience developing and configuring Power Apps solutions, including Common Data Service (Dataverse) entities, relationships, and fields.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint Online, and Azure services; experience with Dynamics 365 is considered an asset, not a requirement.
Ability to design scalable and efficient solutions that meet complex business requirements and adhere to best practices.
Hands‑on experience integrating Power Apps with external data sources (SQL Server, APIs, Microsoft 365 connectors).
Knowledge of role‑based security, data privacy, and compliance frameworks relevant to public sector environments.
Experience with ALM processes, solution deployment, and environment management using CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
