Job summary

A home services company is seeking a 2nd Year Plumbing Apprentice to assist with installation and maintenance of plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings. Responsibilities include ensuring all plumbing work meets industry codes and environmental regulations. Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of plumbing practices and tools, along with the ability to read blueprints. This is a full-time in-person role offering a pay rate of $19 to $25 per hour, aligned with experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Knowledge of standard methods, materials, and equipment used in plumbing.

Plumber Apprentice (2nd Year)

1 Overview

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Plumbing Apprentice assists in installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other piping used for water, gas or hot liquids in residential\commercial settings.

2 Responsibilities & Duties

· Assists in installation, assembling, maintenance, fabrication, and repairing of processpipingsystems

· Knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used in piping

· Must be able to understand blueprints and help install pipes correctly, understand the dangerous nature of the chemicals that the pipes they create are transporting, and help repair and test any damaged or malfunctioning pipes and perform pressure tests from time to time.

· Help ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes

· Help ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements

· Help perform scheduled maintenance service on piping systems and fixtures

· Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance

· Performs other related duties as required.

3 Requires Knowledge & Awareness of Following Tasks

· Strong knowledge of plumbing industry and code compliance

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

· Knowledge of plumbing tools and equipment

4 Work Conditions

· Field work in residential settings

· At times it may be necessary to work outside of the regular work day in order to complete their duties.

5 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Experience in a residential setting an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license
