Position Overview

A Plant Operator at Cold Lake will receive hands‑on training and then work independently in a heavy oil plant environment. Rotating 12‑hour shifts and the requirement to relocate to Cold Lake are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and abide by all safety rules and standards, reporting hazards and holding responsibility for the safe operation of the assigned facility, tools and company vehicles.
  • Operate process, water reuse and steam units including process equipment, steam generators, water treatment facilities, compressors, pumps, treaters and utilities.
  • Make process changes to ensure quality control of end products.
  • Work in a crew environment to manage activities involved with field gate, all plant units or sulphur recovery operations.
  • Participate as a team member to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the facility.
  • Surveil equipment such as compressors, pumps, treaters, etc.
  • Safely perform physical tasks at times, e.g., moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders.
  • Perform minor maintenance and plant housekeeping.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of Power Engineering Technology diploma.
  • Demonstrated progress on an ABSA 3rd class certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have a driver’s license and be comfortable to drive a pick‑up truck.
  • Rotating 12‑hour shifts involving inside and outside work.

Cold Lake, AB – Start date: May 2026. Application deadline: April 30 2026.
