Position: Process Plant Maintenance Manager

Location: West Africa (expat site-based role)

Package: USD 180,000 per annum + expat benefits

The Opportunity

An international gold mining company is seeking an experienced Process Plant Maintenance Manager to lead the fixed plant maintenance function at one of its flagship operations in West Africa. Reporting to the General Manager Operations, this is a key leadership role accountable for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance across the processing plant and associated utilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large multidisciplinary team, promoting local talent advancement.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical maintenance across crushers, grinding circuits, roasting, power generation, and utilities.
• Manage major shutdowns and turnarounds, ensuring zero harm and operational excellence.
• Implement risk-based maintenance, defect elimination, and root cause analysis to optimise reliability.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cost management strategies aligned with business goals.
• Drive predictive and preventative maintenance strategies using CMMS and condition monitoring.
• Champion a safety-first, high-performance culture across all maintenance activities.

About You

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in ore processing or heavy industry maintenance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in shutdown planning, reliability improvement, and cost control.
• Strong leadership experience managing large, multicultural teams.
• Knowledge of crushers, grinding mills, power generation, and utilities.
• Fluent in English; French language skills an advantage.
• Expatriate mining or heavy industry experience in remote locations highly regarded.
