The Opportunity

The Placement Broker is responsible for understanding our insurance suppliers. Specifically, this refers to our commercial insurance companies understanding their processes and their risk appetite. This individual has a sound understanding of the various products available by each insurer. The Placement Broker is able to provide objective product analysis and comparisons with competing products and rates. Consequently, this position requires excellent negotiating skills. This individual develops and maintains lasting relationships with various HUB International departments, key business partners, and clients. The Commercial Marketing broker works closely with Account Managers, Account Associates, and Account Executives to deliver insurance solutions needed to meet client demands.

• Full time career working out of our Winnipeg Head Office located at 1661 Portage Ave or our Emerald Park branch in Saskatchewan.

What you will bring to the role

• 5-7 years of commercial property & casualty experience is required. Experience as an Account Manager is an asset.
• Level 2 license, and the equivalent in other jurisdictions in which HUB International does commercial lines business, is required.
• Working towards CAIB or CIP designation
• Must be, at the very least, working towards completion of an advanced insurance designation. This includes, but is not limited to, the designations of CPIB/CCIB/FCIP/CRM.
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent years of experience is preferred.
• Motivated to help support a diverse team and contribute to a team environment.
• Pro-active and a self-starter with a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
• Works well in a fast paced, client-focused environment.
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems.
