Vancouver Talmud Torah ("VTT") is an inclusive Jewish community day school committed to academic excellence and nurturing lifelong learners who engage the world through Jewish traditions and values. At VTT, we provide a stimulating and challenging educational environment infused with meaningful learning experiences. Our school serves families from a diverse range of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices.

We are hiring a Personal Educational Aide to work one‑on‑one with a student starting January 2026 for 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday) for the remainder of the 2025‑26 school year.

Candidates need not be Jewish, but must be receptive and open to working in a Jewish day school environment.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children with special needs in a direct role (eg. behavioural interventionist)
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Formal education/training is an asset.

  • Work with students with learning needs in an inclusive classroom setting as well as on an individual or small group basis
  • Support students in a variety of subject areas with planning, organization and time management
  • Implement learning goals as outlined in the SSP or IEP
  • Use teaching methods to target specific program goals
  • Maintain student records, follow IEP recommendations, and review strategies
  • Prepare additional resources and materials to support students with learning differences
  • Work with classroom teachers to help them understand the needs of students
