Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

Your role is to safely plan and manage your respective duties on aeromedical evacuation flights, in close collaboration with the flight and ground crews.

More specifically, you will:

  • Carry out pre-flight inspections of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure compliance with weight and balance specifications;
  • Ensure that all flight operations are carried out safely and in compliance with standards;
  • Coordinate flight activities with ATC services, brief crew members on flight and checkout procedures, and direct crew members' activities during flight;
  • Communicate with various stakeholders for various authorizations, instructions and needs;
  • Carry out in-flight checks, monitor the operation of equipment and on-board systems, maintain contact with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters, as well as report and respond to all in-flight emergencies and malfunctions;
  • Maintain skills and participate actively in aviation related projects.

Qualifications

  • Meet Transport Canada's French and English language proficiency standards ;

Your career path is characterized by:

Captain technical skills:

  • Minimum 1,200 total flying hours, including a minimum of 500 hours on turboprop aircraft (single- or multi-engine);
  • Canadian ATPL or CPL required;
  • Instrument flight annotation group 1 or 3;
  • Saron and Samra exams completed;

Your assets prior to hiring :

  • PC12 qualification and/or experience
  • Minimum 500 hours PIC ;
  • Great North on gravel strips experience.
  • No criminal record to impede ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally;
  • Valid passport;
