Job Description

A renowned non-profit organization in Stratford is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join its bustling team. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage a complex payroll system. This is an exceptional chance to become an integral part of a small, supportive payroll department, working closely with the Payroll Manager and another Payroll Coordinator. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll for a diverse workforce, including unionized employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle payroll for a complex system involving nine collective agreements, six different pay periods, and weekly/bi-weekly pays.
  • Process payroll, including manual coding and data entry from paper timesheets, with an eye towards future system improvements.
  • Support remittances and act as a backup for the Payroll Manager.
  • Assist with union labor relations work, including grievances and negotiations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll Manager, another Payroll Coordinator, and the HR department.
  • Master the intricacies of various collective agreements and their impact on payroll calculations.
  • Contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing for both union and non-union employees.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of end-to-end payroll experience.
  • PCP designation preferred or actively working towards it.
  • Experience with Dayforce is a significant advantage and a top priority.
  • Union experience is preferred, but strong candidates with the ability to digest complex data, calculations, and formulas will be considered for training.
  • Strong communication skills.
