Job summary

A leading steel construction company in Southwestern Ontario is seeking a Painter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have over a year of painting experience, proficiency with industrial paint products, and the ability to operate overhead cranes. Responsibilities include following finish codes, operating equipment safely, and maintaining logs of paint usage. About the Position:

Reporting to the Team Leader, The Painter will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Read and follow finish code front sheet for paint requirements.
  • Effectively block out material as per drawings.
  • Review product data sheet for paint mixing/spraying to create the paint required on the finish code front sheet based on project requirements.
  • Paint pieces according to specifications taking into account required mills using preferred techniques and appropriate equipment.
  • Perform accurate DFT readings.
  • Track paint usage on daily logs.
  • Accurately completes paperwork with required paint codes, products, ambient readings etc.
  • Cleans out all equipment accordingly. Flushes out paint pumps and runs thinners to take out paint.
  • Crane, Rigging and Flipping: Rig, hoist and move material safely from paint booth.
  • Operate overhead cranes to effectively move material.
Work Location:
  • Princeton Facility.
Position Requirements:
  • 1+ years painting experience which includes working with air assist painting equipment.
  • Airless spray experience is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial paint products and industrial paint spray equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
  • A team player, who can interrelate and operate efficiently with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
  • Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
  • Strong time management skills.
Compensation Package:
  • Wage: $24.00-$33.00/Hour
