Job Purpose and Impact

The Packer will perform physical production and warehouse responsibilities with an understanding of policies and procedures with regular guidance. In this role, you will support production operations while following all Food Safety and regulatory polices as required. The Packer will be in charge of operate packaging equipment to fill, label, stack, and stretch wrap product containers.

Compensation: $21.51/hr
Job Type: full time, flex schedule
Shifts available: Monday to Friday 2:45 am - 11:00 am and 10:45 am - 7 pm

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform positioning of materials and parts for production per product specifications and production schedule.
  • Operate simple equipment such as a scales and labelers and may use a knife or other hand tools for general use with regular guidance.
  • Convey materials and items within production and warehouse areas by hand, hand truck or electric hand truck.
  • Regularly lift and stack materials, products, tools or equipment.
  • Hand pack product into materials.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Perform basic math tasks
  • Must be able and willing to perform with or without reasonable accommodation: bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, twisting and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Must have the ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Basic computer skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or 3 months or related experience
  • Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
