Position Overview
Responsible for the efficient and safe feeding and removal of materials for Transfer, Progressive, and Manual Presses using overhead cranes and forklifts (tow motors). This role ensures timely transportation of coils, blanks, dies, and stampings throughout the Press Shop and related departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload steel coils on feeders using overhead crane.
- Accurately weigh coils using crane scale.
- Pick coils using barcoding system following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Feed and remove material bins to and from designated areas.
- Transport steel coils and blanks to and from press machines.
- Load coils and blanks into feeders or blank carts.
- Move dies between Toolroom and Press Shop using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload dies from presses safely and efficiently.
- Participate in Quick Die Change (QDC) procedures to minimize downtime.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities through Kaizen and Employee Involvement Programs.
- Verify bar code data to ensure correct material handling.
- Transport finished stampings to designated storage or processing areas.
- Follow non-conforming material procedures when quality issues arise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe coil storage area.
- Safely organize and store wooden skids.
- Keep forklifts (tow motors) clean, safe, and operational.
- Complete daily forklift inspections and safety checklists at the beginning of each shift.
- Work in compliance with all plant safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in regular housekeeping duties as required.
- Immediately report any equipment abnormalities, damage, or unsafe conditions.
- Follow environmental procedures and minimize risk of environmental harm.
- Adhere to all departmental and company-wide procedures and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and / or Department Manager.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Adhere to environmental standards including ISO 14001 and IATF 16949.
- Embrace and apply Kaizen continuous improvement principles; actively participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.

Basic Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role.
- Valid forklift (tow motor) operator certificate.
- Basic knowledge of safe forklift and overhead crane operating procedures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Shift: Monday to Friday 2 pm to 10:10 pm; training will be done on day shift 6 am to 2:30 pm.
Pay: $22.22 per hour plus $0.45 for afternoon shift premium.
