JOB POSITION - EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will sell records storage & related services (document warehousing, retrieval/delivery, new-box intake) to business customers across the GTA. This is a 100% new-business development role focused on acquiring net-new logos (SMB to mid-market, with some institutional). The role reports directly to the President. The role is offering $70–80K plus commission.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • Base: typically $70,000–$80,000 (flexible for top industry talent)

Our client provides Moving and Storage Solutions for individual consumers as well as small to enterprise-size businesses across the GTA and surrounding areas. The company was founded in 1927 with a staff of 50, is family-owned, and currently growing by over 15% per year. Their corporate culture promotes teamwork and a positive work-life balance.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:
  • Offices: Burlington (primary) and Toronto–Scarborough.
  • Primary workplace: Burlington — role is expected to be based here, where the majority of operations run.
  • Work model: Preference In-office (Burlington) with face-to-face client visits; Zoom is acceptable at the rep’s discretion
  • Full-time: Monday to Friday
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Industry experience required/preferred: Direct experience in Business Records Storage/Records Management
TECHNICAL SKILLS:

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION
  • Business Records Storage: secure off-site storage of boxed records; new-box intake; retrieval & delivery; related services
  • Typical contract: 2-year term, then evergreen/auto-renew with periodic rate adjustments
PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S):
  • SMB to mid-market professional firms and institutions (e.g., legal, medical/dental, insurance, engineering/architectural)
  • Decision makers: owners/partners, office managers, operations/admin leads
SALES CYCLE / PRODUCT VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:
  • Pricing & term: Service is priced at $80 per month for storage, sold on an initial 2-year contract that then converts to evergreen/auto-renew (with standard periodic rate adjustments as applicable).
TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:
  • Build and manage a self-generated pipeline (research, outbound calls/emails, field visits, networking, events)
  • Conduct structured discovery; quantify pain (space cost, service gaps, responsiveness, exit-fee concerns)
  • Scope, price, and present records programs; negotiate and close 2-year agreements
  • Coordinate onboarding with operations; ensure accurate CRM hygiene, forecasting, and activity metrics
  • Participate in community/industry groups and relevant tenders; support retention “save” efforts as needed
SALES MOTION:
  • 100% hunter orientation in Year 1 (limited marketing; occasional inbound/tenders)
  • Motions: research → outreach → discovery/site walk-through → proposal/pricing → contract → onboarding/transfer plan
  • Incumbent-displacement strategy: capture forward-new records immediately; allow legacy boxes to age out at incumbents before transition
LEADS:
  • Leads: primarily self-prospected; selective inbound/tenders
  • Marketing support may be increased in collaboration with the salesperson’s field feedback
TRAVEL:
  • Local GTA field travel
SUPPORT & ONBOARDING:
  • Targeted ramp for industry hires; shadowing/mentorship available
  • Week 1–2: tools/process orientation → transition to active selling with executive support
