Overview

A Canadian leader in utility safety and electrical services is expanding its sales team in Ontario by adding an Outside Sales Representative, replacing a long-term veteran stepping into retirement. Founded over 60 years ago, this trusted company has built a positive reputation through reliability, responsiveness, and technical expertise, becoming a pivotal supplier for power utilities, electrical contractors, and industrial clients nationwide.

As part of the sales team, you'll represent a recognized brand that offers Canada's largest accredited high-voltage testing laboratories, comprehensive PPE testing, factory-authorized tool and equipment repair, and a robust inventory of critical utility tools and protective gear. Operating coast-to-coast, the company serves over 7,000 clients and maintains long-term relationships with all major power utilities across Canada. You'll be stepping into a sales environment backed by seasoned professionals, including journeyman linemen, electrical engineers, master electricians, and technologists, ensuring customers benefit from both technical support and product expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies while establishing professional credibility with customers.
  • Promote products and services with confidence, leveraging strong product knowledge to build long-term relationships.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver complete customer solutions.
  • Share market insights and competitor intelligence to support overall business objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, while expanding existing accounts.
  • Prepare forecasts, bids, and proposals to win new projects.
  • Manage assigned territory, customer records, and provide regular reporting to leadership.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven track record of success in outside sales with a focus on the Power Utility and Electrical Contractor industry.
  • Strong business development skills and ability to work independently with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience engaging with Engineering, Purchasing, Safety Committees, and other stakeholders to influence product adoption.
  • Tech-savvy, with strong skills in CRM, Outlook, and MS Office.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the Power Utility and / or Electrical Industrial markets.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience.
