Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform dental implant surgeries, including tooth extractions and alveolectomy, as indicated.
  • Collaborate with restorative dentists to formulate comprehensive treatment plans that maximize patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, diagnose conditions, and create individualized treatment strategies.
  • Prescribe and manage post-operative medications to ensure smooth recovery and pain management.
  • Treat a range of oral health issues, including infections, salivary gland disorders, jaw dysfunctions, facial trauma, and fractures.
  • Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and expected recovery timelines to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Work closely with clinical support staff to assess patient suitability for surgery and obtain necessary medical and dental histories.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in oral surgery techniques and technologies, committing to continuous education and professional growth.

Qualifications And Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Certification as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • A specialist member in good standing registered as an Oral Surgeon with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO).
  • Completion of a hospital-based residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (minimum of 4 years).
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development.
