Overview

Responsibilities
- Palletizes finished good cases according to specifications and requirements.
- Operates case taper, feeds blank WIP into the blank fed machines, and feeds WIP into the Roberts line carton former.
- Supplies empty pallets to the Padlocker using a forklift.
- Removes waste and recyclables from the production area and places them into appropriate locations.
- Opens and operates manual and auto balers to remove bales.
- Opens case taper, changes tape, cleans rollers, and clears jams as required.
- Assists with general housekeeping in all production areas as assigned by the supervisor.
- Performs other related duties to support the success of the operation as assigned.
- Requires training on forklift, box lifters and Little David/Combi (automatic taper). Maintains forklift certification.
Job Specifications
- Education/Experience: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Mathematical Skills: Grade 12 mathematics.
- Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of applicable machines; able to clear jams, change tape, and remove bales.
- Communication Skills: Able to read, write and speak English to receive instruction and communicate issues. Courtesy and tact required.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply established procedures and determine priorities when faced with multiple requests.
- Physical Demands: Stand continuously; lift 7–38 lbs; twist or press hands/wrists when operating powered industrial trucks; lift from floor to shoulder height.
- Work Environment: Noise may exceed 92 dB; dust from paper converting process; work near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks; requires wearing all PPE provided.
