Job summary

A leading HR consultancy in Ontario is seeking an Operations Manager/Senior Engineer to support a range of Civil Engineering projects. The role involves engaging with Indigenous communities and leading consulting initiatives. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering and a minimum of five years' experience in a relevant field.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' related experience in a similar or related position.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hydro One Distribution Standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a wide range of Civil Engineering consulting projects.

Overview

Operations Manager/ Senior Engineer

Location – Based in Ontario or Manitoba

Primary Function:

This full-time position will support operations by leading and supporting a wide range of Civil Engineering consulting projects and initiatives. The role would also include engaging with Indigenous communities throughout Ontario.

Responsibilities
  • Experience in the civil, structural or electrical engineering, construction and telecommunications industry
  • Progressive experience in a Consulting Engineering field serving a variety of sectors
  • Interact with internal / external contacts as necessary for design details
  • Knowledge of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) are also highly desired
  • Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data
  • Interface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issues
  • Assist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practices
  • Coordinate with other business units to verify their project design requirements and delivery schedule
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or civil engineering
  • Minimum of five years' related experience in a similar or related position
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hydro One Distribution Standards is preferred
