Role

The Operations Manager will oversee snow removal, landscaping, and ESC related construction projects. This role requires a decisive and organized leader who performs well in fast-paced, weather-driven environments and can balance field execution with financial and operational oversight. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in mentoring and scheduling staff members along with providing critical updates to management and our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations for snow removal, landscaping, and erosion & sediment control projects.
  • Lead workforce planning, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee equipment, fleet utilization, and maintenance planning.
  • Availability during storms is expected, with flexibility supported through planning, delegation, and team coverage.
  • Ability to utilize sound judgement and make real-time decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Clear understanding of estimates and budgets.
  • Track financial performance and drive cost control and profitability.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and service quality.
  • Support client relationships, renewals, and business development.
  • Coordinate year round projects.
  • Identify new project leads through relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Leverage deep understanding of the Edmonton construction market to secure strategic opportunities.
  • Mentor and training junior staff members.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Education
  • 5+ years of management and construction experience.
  • Previous experience in Landscaping and Snow Removal is crucial.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and operational finance
  • Experienced with Word, Excel, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A valid Class 5 license is required.
