Qualifications

Gordon & MacPhail are looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across bottling and warehousing and to support the long term development of this respected family owned Scotch whisky business.

This is a key leadership role for someone who brings industry knowledge, calm authority and a problem solving approach to a fast moving environment.

What you will bring
  • Degree level education or comparable experience in supply chain or manufacturing.
  • Experience within the drinks industry is preferred.
  • Institute of Brewers and Distillers Diploma or Certificate in Packaging is an advantage.
  • Food Safety Level 3 or above.
  • HACCP.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems or supply chain planning systems.
  • Knowledge of HMRC regulation for Scotch whisky.
  • Experience in the Scotch whisky industry or a strong FMCG production background.
  • Strong people leadership experience.
  • Confident and competent people manager.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Creative motivator who can deliver performance.
  • Problem solving mindset.
  • Ability to organise, plan and meet deadlines and operational targets.
  • Competent presentation and computer skills.
  • Product knowledge and awareness of Scotch whisky is advantageous.
  • Self awareness and a desire to grow with the role.
Additional information
  • Permanent, full time position.
  • Forty hours per week.
