Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly detail‑oriented Operations Analyst (Back Office Analyst) to support critical post‑trade operations and client onboarding activities. This role plays an integral part in ensuring accurate trade settlement, efficient account administration, and seamless coordination between internal stakeholders, clients, and clearing partners.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical and organizational skills, and takes ownership of operational accuracy and risk mitigation. Prior experience working with Fidelity Clearing Canada is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end client and trader account opening, documentation, and ongoing account maintenance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, traders, and the carrying broker to resolve onboarding, settlement, or operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Perform daily trade clearing, settlement, and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy across all accounts and transactions.
  • Monitor settlement cycles and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve trade exceptions.
  • Support regulatory reporting, compliance checks, and internal controls in accordance with industry and firm standards.
  • Assist in identifying process gaps and contribute to operational improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate closely with trading, compliance, finance, and technology teams to ensure smooth operational workflows and high‑quality client service.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. 1–3+ years of experience in securities operations, back office, or brokerage support within a financial services or capital markets environment.
  2. Hands‑on experience with account opening and client onboarding processes; familiarity with Fidelity Clearing Canada is a strong asset.
  3. Solid understanding of clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes across equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and back‑office systems such as PositionWatch, Dataphile, and Arrow.
  5. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure.
