Operating Partner

As an Operating Partner, you will oversee the General Managers (GMs) of multiple software business units. Your focus will be on coaching GMs, coordinating between business units (BUs) and the larger organization, sharing best practices, and participating in the due diligence and integration phases of new acquisitions. You will report to the CEO on the achievements, results, forecasts, and planned key strategies of the BUs that you are supporting.

Key Responsibilities

Team Building and Staff Management:

  • Work closely with GMs to develop and retain high-performing teams
  • Guide GMs in the recruitment and development of senior leadership talent
  • Collaborate with GMs to implement optimal organizational structures that align with strategy
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for GMs, offering coaching tosupport growth
  • Ensure GM compensation plans align with desired behaviors andoutcomes

Results, Forecasting and Planning:

  • Ensure accountability for operational plans and results that drive the desired and agreed financial outcomes
  • Enable and implement frameworks for QBRs, strategy development, andtactical decision making with KPIs and leading and lagging indicators
  • Foster a balance between biased action and analytical based decisionmaking to drive positive outcomes
  • Share best practises from Beacon Software’s other BUs and leveragesupport from shared services to help the GMs run their business efficiently
  • Identify and address barriers to growth, collaborating with GMs to developactionable strategies for new customer acquisition and upselling
  • Provide guidance on product development, R&D, and ensure alignmentwith market needs and business objectives
  • Review and refine pricing strategies to maximize customer acquisition andretention
  • Ensure frameworks for competitive analysis and win/loss analysis areused to inform go-to-market strategies and identify key growthopportunities
  • Assist GMs in aligning businesses with BU KPIs and implementing costsavings if needed

Customer Relationship Building:

  • Assist GMs in building and maintaining strong relationships with keycustomers to better understand their needs and drive business growth
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for major customers, providing strategicsupport and acting as a liaison with partners

Due Diligence and Integration Assistance:

  • Play a key role in the due diligence and integration of newly acquired BUs,ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with overall businessobjectives
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a software or technology companyat an executive level with results achievement
  • Experience coaching and working with senior leadership of BUs across sales,operations, finance and product
  • Experience working with Venture Capital (VC) and Private Equity (PE) firms
  • Strong background in product development and technology
  • Experience with the acquisition process and integration of new business units
  • Demonstrated ability to drive both growth and cost management strategies
  • Advocate of AI/ML and how they can be leveraged to build efficient customer-ledVMS companies
  • Extensive experience in customer relationship management
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
