Job summary

An Indigenous services organization is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the management and operations of the Emergency Evacuation Shelter in Missanabie, Ontario. The role requires strong facilities management skills, knowledge of building systems, and the ability to reside on-site during the evacuation season between April and October. The successful candidate will ensure the facility is well-maintained and operational year-round, catering to both emergency needs and community use. A valid driver's license and willingness to engage with Indigenous communities are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities management and building operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to reside in Missanabie for extended periods during evacuations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Emergency Evacuation Shelter.
  • Manage all interior and exterior facility components including HVAC and plumbing.
  • Coordinate with emergency teams during evacuations.
