On‑Site Coordinator for O'Brien House
We are recruiting for an On‑Site Coordinator for O'Brien House to work in our Accommodations Program. This position assumes the responsibility for the day‑to‑day operations of O'Brien House, including problem solving, dealing with logistics, promotion of community‑based activities, liaising with families or other agency service providers, and detailed day‑to‑day support planning for individuals receiving services.
Compensation Package
- Working up to 37.5 hours per week
- Minimum starting rate of $31.02 per hour
- 11 paid statutory holidays

Minimum requirements of this position include:
- Community College Diploma in Social Services from an accredited college or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, as determined by the employer;
- Minimum of two years recent full time experience in a social services setting providing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities;
- Supervisory experience will be considered an asset;
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication, with interpersonal skills such as self‑discipline and time management;
- Working knowledge of CQL (Council on Quality and Leadership) values and approach, with the ability to convert these outcomes into operational practices at their designated site; familiar with Personal Outcome Measures;
- Ability to work in a computerized environment;
- Current valid certificates in First Aid/CPR and NVCI;
- Medication dispensing or successful completion of a recognized pharmacology course;
- Valid Class G driver's license and reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
Duties And Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To)
- Day‑to‑day scheduling of staff related to program needs in consultation with the Supports and Services Supervisor;
- Ensuring adequate coverage during periods of staff absences is maintained;
- Ensuring that all procedures related to confidential information are adhered to at all times;
- Assisting in the design and implementation of Personalized Supports for people supported;
- Supporting people to develop and realize individualized goals through the Individual Support Planning process;
- Monitoring of all medications within the home, ensuring that they are properly dispensed and that an adequate supply is maintained in accordance with Agency standards of practice; supporting individuals with self‑administration if required;
- Ensuring that all physical, medical and emotional needs of individuals are met by arranging necessary supports through community services providers to ensure the best possible health for individuals supported;
- In conjunction with the Cook/Housekeeper, ensuring the planning, preparation and serving of nutritious meals in a manner consistent with the Canada Food Guide, taking advantage of seasonal foods and economies of bulk buying when shopping and/or ordering food and household supplies and to ensure that supplies are readily available for people;
- Evaluating individuals' leisure and recreational needs by developing appropriate activities/programs;
- Ensuring that leisure or recreational activities are planned and carried out by direct care staff;
- Maintaining healthy professional boundaries when supporting people and their families;
- Providing information to the Supervisor regarding individuals receiving service on a regular basis or as required;
- Providing direction to staff by assigning and prioritizing work to be completed and assisting staff who are having difficulties with their tasks or assignments.
