Lifemark is seeking an occupational therapist for its Return to Work program in Calgary. The Return to Work program at Lifemark Sunridge is looking for an occupational therapist to join our team!
The RTW program offers stability and team based work, with compensation that is competitive with industry standards.
The Lifemark RTW program provides interdisciplinary care for injured workers, in preparation for return to work. Clients are referred from WCB following workplace injuries: both musculoskeletal (e.g., sprains/strains, tendonitis, fractures, dislocations, etc.) and psychological (e.g., post traumatic stress, adjustment disorder, major depressive disorder, etc.)
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality assessment and treatment of injuries, with a goal of improving function, managing symptoms, and reducing the impact of workplace injury on clients’ lives.
The occupational therapist position requires working closely with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, physiotherapists, kinesiologist, and physicians. There is also plenty of opportunities to collaborate with other occupational therapists.
Location: 2121 29th Street NE, Calgary, AB
Schedule:Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
Mandatory requirements: Registration (member in good standing) with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists
Your Day-to-Day
• Assessing client’s physical and/or cognitive functioning within the clinic and in the community.
• Creating and implementing individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning
• Educating clients on topics such as therapeutic modalities, interpersonal skills, mental and physical health literacy, wellness planning, etc.
• Supporting return-to-work programs (job coaching, accommodation recommendations)
• Utilizing e-charting software to document treatment sessions; submitting reports to stakeholders in a timely manner
• Participating in case conferences and case management with various stakeholders
• Collaborating with the inter-professional team at your clinic and other program clinics
• Supervising Occupational Therapy students (as preferred)
• Networking with all stakeholders to promote Lifemark OT programs
• Managing caseload in a fast-paced environment
What You Bring to the Team:
• Registration (member in good standing) with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists
• Previous experience treating clients with physical, neurological, and/or mental health conditions
• Ability to be autonomous; working both independently and as part of the team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development
• Previous experience supporting auto insurance, long term disability, and WCB referrals is a strong asset
• Experience supporting occupational rehabilitation is a strong asset
• A valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
