A leading healthcare provider in Calgary seeks a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to join their Neuro Rehabilitation Program. The HCA will provide ongoing client care, monitor health status, deliver medications, and communicate effectively with nursing staff. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, complete a recognized HCA program, and be capable of physical tasks. Registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required. Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides on-going client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Neuro Rehabilitation Program – for adults who have had a neurological injury, such as a stroke, and require additional assessment, recuperation and rehabilitation before returning to the community.
