Qualifications

  • Be a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Hold current CPR-C with First Aid certification.
  • Completion of BCCDC Immunization Competency training or willingness to complete prior to start.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Nurse

We are looking for a Nurse Immunizer to:

  • Administer seasonal vaccines, primarily seasonal influenza and COVID-19.

  • Assess vaccination status and screen patients for eligibility, contraindications, or precautions.

  • Educate patients about the benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.

  • Monitor patients for immediate adverse reactions following immunization.

  • Welcome patients in a professional and caring manner, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient delivery of immunization services.

What you’ll do:

  • Safely administer influenza and COVID-19 vaccines according to BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) guidelines.

  • Conduct patient assessments to ensure vaccine appropriateness and safety.

  • Provide clear and supportive education to patients on vaccination and aftercare.

  • Monitor, document, and report any adverse events following immunization as required by BCCDC and provincial protocols.

  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the clinic by working closely with the pharmacy and healthcare team.

Requirements:

  • Be a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

  • Hold current CPR-C with First Aid certification.

  • Completion of BCCDC Immunization Competency training (or willingness to complete prior to start).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
