Opportunity: Nurse II Abortion Program
Site / Base Location

Women’s Health Clinic Portage – Winnipeg

Position Summary

To provide high‑quality, safe, ethical, supportive and confidential clinical care and education on issues related to women’s reproductive health including medical and surgical abortion.

Schedule

Wednesdays and Thursdays with availability to work between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Shift Information

Casual; days and evenings; in person; 8 to 10 hours daily.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated, organized and detail‑oriented individual. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills and be able to work to strict deadlines while contributing to a professional working environment.

Candidates must have
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Proof of registration and certification with the College of Registered Nurses
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a community health setting
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry check
Assets
  • Proficiency in both official languages or another language
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to decolonizing practices and disrupting all forms of racism
  • Experience using Accuro EMR
  • Experience in an abortion program or surgical unit
  • Experience providing birth control/pregnancy counselling and support
