Production Supervisor – Ontario Plant

About the Role

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Ontario Plant team. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality products are produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The Production Supervisor will oversee shift operations, maintain effective communication between teams, and lead employees toward achieving plant goals.

This position requires a proactive leader who takes ownership of their shift, ensures production lines run smoothly, and drives improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily shift activities to meet production, packaging, logistics, and quality goals.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor production efficiencies and report to the Production Manager.

  • Allocate and schedule employees per production line; maintain rosters.

  • Spend 80% of time on the production floor and 20% on administrative duties.

  • Identify process deficiencies and recommend improvements.

  • Conduct team meetings (pre-shift, tailgate, and regular updates).

  • Enforce company policies and procedures (attendance, safety, GMP, etc.).

  • Assist in equipment troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and upkeep.

  • Ensure employees receive proper training (GMP, SOP, Safety, Operations).

  • Coach, train, and evaluate employee performance; assist in hiring and reviews.

  • Approve employee schedules, time-off requests, and overtime.

  • Support sanitation and maintenance work orders as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • Frequent walking along production lines.

  • Exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions.

  • Moderate to high noise levels.

  • Work near mechanical parts, conveyor belts, ovens, mixers, and chemicals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience ().

  • Minimum 3 years of food manufacturing experience (recommended).

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, MRP systems ).

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (required after employment).

  • Proven ability to lead and develop a large hourly workforce.

  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) .
